The Mount Agamenticus Conservation Region offers scenic vistas of the Atlantic Ocean and the White Mountains, along with unfragmented forests and watersheds that showcase years of land protection efforts. The Region also boasts more than 40 miles of trails used by an estimated 30,000 visitors each year.
This vantage point, with its views of the undeveloped forests and local reservoirs, is the ideal location to bring your family, school group, company, club, or friends to enjoy the scenery, have a picnic, host a meeting, and learn about the significance of the region for wildlife and water quality.
Learning Lodge
The Mount Agamenticus conservation program will be hosting a “Sneak Peek” in the new summit “Learning Lodge” on Saturday, June 12 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The summit lodge will be open to the public and multiple activities are planned throughout the day.
The Sneak Peek will present a glimpse of what is to come when the Learning Lodge is established as a beacon of environmental education at the summit of Mount Agamenticus.
As we work to develop the Learning Lodge, please check back for updates. The facility will be open for public visitation on weekends through out the summer, is free of charge and can be enjoyed by all ages. Hours are limited and may vary, so please Contact Us for more information.

Bringing a Group?

The information you provide will allow us to better track the activities that take place here and help ensure careful stewardship of the land. Furthermore, we will be better able to assist you plan your visit, verify that there are adequate facilities (e.g. parking, restrooms, etc.) and ensure there are no conflicts with other groups or activities.

Please use this form if you are bringing a group to use the trails at Mt. A and/or a picnic area. This is for groups that will be here a short period of time and are not looking for use of additional facilities in the lodge or reserving any space or decks on the summit. Examples may include trail meet up groups, school groups, summer camps, small cookouts, etc.

Please use this form if you are looking to reserve any outdoor space (deck, picnic area, etc.), host an organized event or activity at the summit, or utilize the lodge. Events inside the lodge will be limited to 35 people and will have access to a small kitchen facility and restrooms. Meeting space will be available in the shared Learning Lodge on the second floor or in a separate downstairs room. Examples may include a company cookout, outdoor ceremony, sporting event, meeting/retreat/workshops, school lab, etc.
Other Activities
Those wishing to conduct an activity on the trails not covered here or by the posted Rules and Regulations will be asked to apply for a Special Use Permit from the Mount Agamenticus Steering Committee. Please Contact the Conservation Coordinator to obtain an application. Examples may include research projects, surveys, etc.
Please be as thorough as possible when filling out these forms and include any additional information that you think would help with the determination. You can fax the signed application forms to 207-351-2967 or mail to: Mt. Agamenticus Conservation Program, 186 York Street, York, ME 03909.
You will receive a notification when your Registration Form or Permit Application has been received. Please allow at least two weeks to process your application. There may be a fee associated with your planned event.
